ISTD
Publication exploring Pink Floyd's album - the Dark Side of the Moon.

The Solution
Someone In My Head is a publication exploring the existential depths of Pink Floyd's the Dark Side of the Moon. The influential album discusses many themes including: madness, time, greed, death, cycles and more. The publication documents and celebrates the album bringing light to these taboo themes in a time of societal anxieties, showing the world that they are not alone. Using vast calming white space and the contrasting chaos of large display type and image reflecting the musical rhythm and fluctuating core of madness.

Layout
Designed based on the specification of a vinyl record, and packaged in the same plastic sleeve. The publication uses the base of a balanced 5x5 grid, for a total of 10 columns - the exact amount of songs on the album (when separating Speak to Me & Breathe).

Design Choices
Exploring the overarching narrative of madness in the album, the publication uses classic British inspired grotesque typefaces and variable typographic density reflecting the rhythmic, heartbeat motif at the center of the album. Print tactility is introduced through a UV flat bed, with repetitive elements that symbolize the cyclicality of the album.
